COVID UPDATE - School Closure
Dear Parents/Carers
We would like to begin by wishing you all a Happy New Year. We hope that the Christmas period was as restful and enjoyable as it could be given the current circumstances. Unfortunately, due to the government announcement this evening, Sudley Junior School will remain closed to all children, except those who are the children of Key Workers or those who are considered vulnerable.
Due to the timing of the information received this evening, we will be allocating tomorrow as a planning day and will open to Key Worker and Vulnerable children from Wednesday 6 January.
Guidance on whether your child fulfils the criteria to attend school can be found at:
Key Worker and Vulnerable Children
For those who are eligible, there will be a registration form available for you to complete on our website from tomorrow morning. Please complete this fully and return it by email to contact@sudleyjuniors.com no later than 1.00pm. For key Worker Children, priority will be given to those families who have 2 key workers at home. For operational and logistical purposes, each place offered will be full time and capacity will be limited. We will review the places during the afternoon and you will be notified if you have or have not been allocated a place by 6.00pm.
If you are a Key Worker and you genuinely cannot make provision for your child tomorrow please contact school from 8.00am to discuss arrangements.
Remote Learning
Remote learning procedures will be put in place tomorrow. All teachers will host a class assembly at 1.00pm via Google Classrooms and work will be set for the afternoon.
In subsequent days, the procedures we adopt for remote leaning will depend largely on the number of Key Worker and Vulnerable children who register to attend. More information will also follow on this tomorrow.
As we have said so many times before, thank you for your patience and understanding. We are working tirelessly to minimise the impact this has on our community in what are very tough times for us all.
Kindest Regards
S Connell
