Parent/Carers Governor Election Information
We currently have a vacancy for a Parent/Carer Governor and therefore would like to give you the opportunity to stand for the position and become a member of Sudley Junior School's Governing Board.
A Parent Governor is defined as "a person who is elected as a member of the governing board of the school by parents/carers of registered pupils at the school, who has a child attending at the time of the election." A Parent Governor of a county, controlled or maintained special school is elected for a four year term office.
- Nomination Procedures
If you wish to stand for election please contact Ann Curran, Office Manager. You will then be required to complete a self-nomination form together with a personal statement which can then be returned to the school office. All nominations are to be returned to school by 12 NOON ON MONDAY 28 NOVEMBER 2016, if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact Mr Connell or Ms Curran.
- Procedures for Nominees
Candidates will be given the opportunity to write a personal statement in support of their candidacy, which will be sent to parents with the ballot papers.
- Election Procedures
- The Headteacher will be the returning officer.
- The electoral method used will be 'first past the post'
- Ballot paper will be sent out by the 'pupil post' and should be returned to the School.
- The election will be conducted by secret ballot using a double envelope system.

Ballot papers, personal statements from candidates and information regarding voting procedures to be sent home.
Closing date for return of ballot papers - to either School Reception or Class teacher by 3.30pm.
|Monday 12.12.16||Count of ballot papers 9.00am in school. Candidates invited to attend. Election result sent home.|
